Inspirational Biz Owner Spotlight : Rebecca Hannah
I love Rebecca's work!
She is so talented in creating bespoke, editable slide decks that let your ideas shine.
Because slide decks can be tricky, let's be honest.
We've all seen those generic template presentations that put you to sleep...
Well not with Rebecca's design and input – she will transform your content into visually stunning and impactful presentations that captivate your audience.
Rebecca also has a great knack for infographics - putting all that data into something someone wants to read and understand. No boring spreadsheet or table of data from this creative!
You now know who to contact for your next presentation to win the pitch, get the Board on your side and ‘wow’ the shareholders. You just need a little help.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have always been compelled to design so I had created all sorts of work well before I had clients. I started Stir when my brother’s friend needed branding for his new business - he stayed a client for about 10 years. At the beginning, I balanced part time contracts during the day with freelance work at night, which now I look back, I’m not sure how I managed it all. I have picked up work over the years thanks to friends and family members who recommended me to clients, and it has grown from there.
What challenges or obstacles do you face with running your own business, and how do you overcome them?
I guess one of the biggest challenges I face is not knowing what the next project will be or when I’ll be quiet or busy. Over the last 15 years I’ve learnt to rest in the times when there isn’t much work to do and outsource when I have too much.
What have been the most effective marketing and promotional strategies for your business?
I believe the best marketing you can do is to build relationships with clients, stay positive and deliver more than they expect. I get a lot of work from word of mouth because of these things.
What advice would you give to business owners who are wanting to move their business to the next level?
Invest in learning: read, listen, talk, get educated from books, podcasts, courses, and events. My favourite people to listen to, read and follow at the moment are: Mike Michalowicz, Lewis Howes, Tara Mohr and Donald Miller. They will change your business.
I also love being part of a personal development book club. We read during the week then on Friday morning before work we jump online and chat about what has come up for each of us. I learn so much from 8 other perspectives.
What are your future plans and goals for your business?
I am on the journey to have my business run itself. I have been inspired by the ‘Run Like Clockwork’ book and course which teaches how to build a team of people to run the business without me having to do everything. I’m looking forward to being able to purely concentrate on my first love – design.
