In the beginning...

I love hearing about other people’s business journey’s – how they’ve come to be doing what they’re doing today.

It’s something I like to understand when talking to clients as it gives me a sense of what motivates them and what they’re good at.

Was it something they knew they wanted to do from an early age? Or something that developed out of trying different paths?

Looking back over my life I can join the dots on the creative path.

My career you could say began back in school days. Always loved art time, and took art through to the end of high school.

Looking back my love of design, magazines and books developed through the book projects my friend and I use to make up during the school holidays – yes I know, a nerdy thing to do! But we loved taking a subject, researching it, hand writing out copy, drawing title pages and any images, using a photocopier to get any coloured images. We had to visit the library and get books out – no Google in those days haha!

I used to love making up the title pages in my subject books too – anybody remember those??

At the end of school, not really knowing what I wanted to do, I applied and was accepted into the Elam School of Fine Arts but at the same time had applied for a junior graphic designer role in a Parnell art studio… and so my design career began.

I’ve been in the creative industry all my working life.
